Before the Holocaust, there were nine and half million Jews in Europe. They lived throughout all parts of Europe and had their own individual culture. Most spoke Yiddish and enjoyed the life of an average German. After the Holocaust, only three and a half million Jews (about 37% of the original population) remained in Europe.
